A rather dramatic website update!
August 21, 2026,Hello! I have decided I dont actually want to kill myself any more and that having a place to put some of the more niche stuff I get up to online somewhere is really helpful for me! So Ive updated a huge section of the website (complete with broken links, and old posts that dont format properly any more) Dont worry, I still have all the old data and will be moving things over slowly and fixing the strange brokenness as I find it.

Some software I use
January 13, 2025, BlogI regularly find myself reccomending software to people for various slightly niche interests, so I figured I could make a list! These broadly fall into a few categories

our ichor
January 11, 2025, MusicOverall this album really satisfied my need for crunchy, brain scratching and fun sounds, that I think will have a permanent place on my mp3 player. I don’t think it would sound particularly realistic if I said how many times I’d listened to ‘Unleashed!!’ since I found it, the loud and driving bassline in the beginning immediately gets me so hyped and then the vocals are so fun and choppy. With some personal insight, knowing this song was written about a puppy boy the artist knows makes a lot of sense obviously but also it makes me want to be a good puppy, and also tear shit up. The rest of the album is similarly inspiring.

Making a static webring with Jekyll
January 11, 2025, BlogThis week, I decided to make a webring, which for me meant learning a little ruby to program a jekyll generator plugin. Here’s a little more about what that actually means:

Demolition Girl
January 11, 2025, Musicthis album is so fucking good, very groovey, the vocal performance is so raw and cool mix and master isnt my favorite, kind of bass heavy sometimes? and also just a little low in volume sometimes, to the point where I adjusted it myself to avoid having to have to turn my music player up when it came on, but that’s a minor issue and now I’ve done that I have no complaints at all. I really appreciate the lyrics being posted on the bandcamp page, that’s what the lyrics section is for! And some of this would be impossible for me to understand otherwise! <3 Small note, theres a “Redux” version on youtube and spotify, though the bandcamp version doesnt say it. I can’t hear a difference on my laptop speakers, when I noticed this, but there might be one and maybe the mix/master is different on those! No Clue. :)

No Other Option
November 27, 2024, MusicA portland rock/jazz artist! I’ve heard these songs played many times live and they really have SO much energy, the guitarist is incredible and the rhythm section is extremely tight with bright and articulate bass.

Wet Velvet
November 24, 2024, MusicA PDX Local artist with some extremely cool influences, this album really made me feel good, I was smiling like a fool through some of my favorite sections, particularly later in the album once I became accustomed to the sound. The more electronic sections get it just right with screaming noise and synths, but they also keep that gothic, eerie quality of vocals that just drone and lull you in. I’ve heard this band live and while I prefer some of the songs I’ve heard live, the recorded songs are extremely fun and still in the same spirit (Though they really lose out from the lack of strings!)
